Types Of Mark Pen

Nov 09, 2022

There are three types of Mark pens according to ink: alcoholic, oily, and water -soluble.

Oily harm to the human body, with withdrawal of the market, is generally replaced by alcohol with alcohol, so the oily marks we see are actually alcoholic.

Oily = alcoholic

Therefore, there are only two types of oily and water -soluble on the market.

The difference between oily and water -soluble:

Oil (alcoholic):

Ingredients: methanol, pigment

Features: cannot be integrated between colors

Advantages: waterproof, fast dry, easy to stack color, it is not easy to feather, the mixed color effect is good, the color saturation is high, the color is more bright, the color is uniform, and the scores of the pen are less.

Disadvantages: pungent. You can keep ventilation when you use it.

Paper: sulfuric acid paper, special paper for markers, comic paper. If you don’t know what paper is used, use thick paper.

Water -soluble:

Ingredients: water, pigments

Features: The color is dissolved between the colors, and the color changes diverse. If it is applied with a pen with water, the effect is similar to watercolor.

Advantages: not pungent, stacked, relatively low color saturation, not as bright as oily.

Disadvantages: non-waterproof, easy to feather, and repeated colors will make the color dirty, poor mixing effects, easy to break the paper, the paper is easy to get the paper ball, and it is easy to produce a stroke.

Because the color changes more after the colors are merged, water properties are more difficult to master than oily.

Paper: copper version paper, cardboard, comic original paper, Mark pen -specific paper. Same as above, thicker paper.
